17 March 2014

The architecture of Ukrainian cities became a uniting factor for city authorities, business and society. The project started in January, 2014. It has a goal to advance unique external architectural character of Ukrainian cities, to attract attention to their exciting views and their history.

"This project is one of visible results of long-term work. A year ago at the initiative of our partner Prime Group we held strategic sessions, workshops and the round tables to search a compromise between all parties, involved in process. The purpose of these actions is to develop the plan of actions for modernization of Ukrainian cities external character, to make them more comfortable, more beautiful, more safety", said Igor Stepanov, the art director of the project “Architectural Treasures of Ukraine”.

Katerina Khramova, the managing partner of Prime Group:"We together with architectural community and authorities are working at integration of promotional and informational carriers in an urban environment. We understand that success of this work depends on the integrated and coordinated approach of all project participants to this question. For this reason our company invests resources not only in such projects as "Architectural treasures of Ukraine", but also in development of strategic approaches to modernization of Ukrainian cities external character”.

Sergey Tselovalnik, the director of the Department of architecture of KCSA:"The architectural treasures of Ukraine” is unique example of cooperation of the city, society and business. It helps people to open for itself unique architecture of other cities of Ukraine. But its main value is visual demonstration of positive result of that cooperation".

"Project is necessary and timely. We support a cultural exchange between the cities which will help to unite the country. The architectural treasures presented on posters can be familiar to professionals, but they are also interesting to inhabitants of the Ukrainian cities and help to understand other communities. There is no wonder that many cities took part in this social project. Such support will allow to realize it in more cities", noted Margarita Yurchenko, the director of the Department of public relations of the Cities of Ukraine Association.

Oleg Kalinichenko, the owner of advertizing production company Grande Affiche Ukraine:"Introduction of a new informative format of outdoor advertizing, out of any doubts, helps with cultural development of the population. The purpose of project is to attract attention of the cities inhabitants to architectural heritage of Ukraine. It is a result of successful cooperation of the city authorities, celebrities and business. And it is especially pleasant to us that our company can be proud of its participation in such wide and very important social project".

"As you can see in this project, the conflict between architects and operators of outdoor advertizing is mythical. Both parts can fruitfully cooperate with each other. I hope that this format of cooperation will develop into projects of complex reconstruction of streets and cities, into investment projects on the European sample when operators realize specific projects of improvement or reconstruction of territories, receiving the advertizing planes in these territories in long-term rent", noted Pyotr Markman, the vice-president of the Architects of Ukraine National Union.

At the end all participants of a round table noted importance of such projects like "Architectural treasures of Ukraine" for development of city spaces and country unifying.
